A guest speaker session on Circular Economy Concept in Waste Management was organized by the Department of Environmental Engineering, NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, Pakistan, on May 14th, 2023. Engr. Muhammad Khalid, Advisor to Hangzhou Jinjiang Sanitation Group Pakistan was the guest speaker of the session. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, Associate Professor, welcomed the participants; the session formally began with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran by a master student. The speaker conducted an interactive session with students and discussed the current scenario of waste generation, collection and initiatives taken by his organization in waste management. Engr. Muhammad Khalid highlighted the concept of circular economy converting waste into a resourceful economy. Postgraduate students and faculty members actively participated in the seminar. In recognition of the contribution, Engr. Muhammad Khalid was awarded a memento by Dr. Mehmood Ali, and Dr. Sadia Khan (Associate Professors) of the Department of Environmental Engineering, NED UET. |
