A seminar on environmental assessment and compliance of the Thar coal project was organized by the Department of Environmental Engineering as guest speaker series-2020 on January 4th, 2020 in NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan. Engineer Muneer Ahmed a proactive solution focused industrious environmental specialist was the guest speaker of the session.
Engr. Muneer Ahmed is currently associated with GEMS (Pvt.) Ltd. as Manager Environment at Coal Mining and Power Project in Thar. He shared experience on Thar coal project, procedures, and practices in preparation of environmental assessment reports, environmental management, monitoring, and compliances. Teachers and students had a fruitful insight from his experience and current practices on the Thar coal project.
Students and teachers from the Department of Environmental Engineering participated in the session. In recognition of the contribution, Engr. Muneer Ahmed was awarded a memento by Dr. Atif Mustafa, Associate Professor and co-chairman of the Environmental Engineering Department. Dr. Mehmood Ali and Dr. Sadia Khan also participated and appreciated the seminar.
