An industrial visit to English Biscuit Manufacturers (EBM) Private Ltd. was organized for postgraduate students enrolled in the courses Environmental Quality Management (EN-531) and Solid Waste Management (EN-526) within the Masters of Engineering Management (MEM) and Masters Engineering (M.Engg) programs of the Environmental Engineering Department. This visit took place on Saturday, July 06, 2024, at EBM’s facility located in the Korangi Industrial Area of Karachi, Pakistan. The visit was facilitated by the industry management, who provided students with a brief orientation and an overview of the manufacturing processes, including raw material handling, mixing, baking, automation, quality control, and systematic packaging. The industry representatives discussed their environmental management practices, safety measures, energy conservation strategies, and waste management practices. Students actively participated in discussions and gained valuable insights into the operational processes. |
