The Department of Environmental Engineering at NED University of Engineering and Technology organized an educational visit for the higher secondary students of Habib Public School on November 5, 2024. The students, along with their faculty members, were warmly welcomed by Dr. Mehmood Ali, Associate Professor and Acting Chair of the Department of Environmental Engineering.
The visit commenced with an orientation session held at the AV Hall of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, Associate Professor, moderated the session, providing an overview of the engineering discipline. Engr. Zain Shahid presented an insightful session on the prospects and future opportunities within the field of engineering. Alumni of Habib Public School (also the faculty members of NED University) shared their professional experiences with students.
Following the orientation, the students engaged in an interactive discussion with esteemed faculty members of NED University, which fostered a stimulating exchange of ideas. The students were then guided on a tour of various laboratories, where they observed first hand the working principles and ongoing engineering activities. Some of the notable labs included those focused on HVAC systems, HAPTIC, Water Quality, and Biodiesel (Biofuel).
The students displayed a keen interest in the laboratory demonstrations, posing numerous insightful questions to the faculty. The visit was formally concluded by Dr. Sadia Khan, Associate Professor, who extended a vote of thanks to all participants. A lunch was provided for the visiting students, marking the end of an enriching and informative experience at NED University.
