5 Days Training Course On Integrated Coastal Management

The Inaugural session of a 5 days intensive training course on Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) was organized by the Department of Environmental Engineering in collaboration with The International Union for Conservation of Nature - Mangroves for the Future (IUCN-MFF) on Monday, 31st March, 2014 at Video Conferencing Hall, NED University of Engineering and Technology. The purpose of this training is to develop locally customized ICM short training modules and conduct training for twenty (20) coastal Managers from Sindh and Balochistan Provinces. After successful completion of this training, the participants will be equipped with the knowledge, tools and skills to design and implement sustainable ICM Programs. 

The inaugural session began formally with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by a welcome speech from The Chairman of the Department of Environmental Engineering Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, a project brief from the Project Resource Person Dr. Atif Mustafa and remarks from the Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor of NED University of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal Haque and Prof. Dr. Sahibzada Farooq Ahmad Rafeeqi respectively. The session was concluded by the MFF National Coordinator, Mr. Ghulam Qadir Shah.
