Mission Statement of the Programme

Department of Environmental Engineering administers postgraduate programme leading to the degrees of Master of Engineering (ME) in Environmental Engineering. The mission of the master’s program is to:

  • Nurture students and professionals for successful career paths in Environmental Engineering and Management through specialized classroom teaching, discipline-specific education, field visits together with seminars participation. The programme involves participants in knowledge creation through advanced scientific research and prepares students for life-long learning in the field of environmental engineering and management with particular emphasis in the areas of air pollution control, water quality and wastewater treatment and solid and hazardous waste management. 
  • Undertake and support potential research opportunities for cultivating the skills and professional development of the faculty and technical staff.
Measurable Objectives of the Programme
Programme Educational Objective (PEO’S):
  1. To create awareness among the graduating students of global environmental issues and equip them with the tools and skills used in the planning and design of engineering works related to the preservation and improvement of the natural and built environment.
  2. To acquaint students with instruments and techniques used for the prediction and measurement of environmental quality.
  3. To produce potential graduate students who can meet the expectations of employers by applying the skills and tools taught during the course work.
